Skin Grafts

Skin grafts are a reconstructive surgical technique performed in our state of the art surgical theatres under local anaesthetic. A skin graft is typically used when the area of skin removed is too large to be closed without significantly altering the appearance or function of the area. This technique involves using skin from one area of the body (called the donor site) to repair the surgical site. The donor skin is then secured to the area with stitches. The length of time the stitches remain in place depends upon the location of the surgical site; your team will give you further instructions following your procedure.
