Dr Rose Liu
Dr Rose Liu is a specialist dermatologist with a comprehensive background in both medical and procedural dermatology, exhibiting expertise in surgical and non-surgical management of skin cancer, psoriasis, eczema, acne, paediatric and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr Liu holds a Bachelor of Medical Studies and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of New South Wales, as well as a Master of Public Health from the University of Sydney. She is a Fellow of the Australian College of Dermatologists (FACD). Her extensive dermatology training took place in prominent New South Wales hospitals, including Liverpool Hospital, John Hunter Hospital, Westmead Hospital, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and The Skin Hospital, with additional outreach placements in rural NSW, fostering a particular interest in skin cancer detection and management.
Dr Liu is committed to providing the most up to date evidence-based care to her patients, and has been extensively involved in research, with contribution to clinical trials for melanoma, eczema, psoriasis, cutaneous lymphoma and hidradenitis suppurativa. Her publications in peer-reviewed journals span both national and international forums. Notable achievements include receiving scholarships and grants, enabling her to present her work at prestigious national and international conferences such as the World Congress of Dermatology in Milan and the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology in Geneva.
Her commitment to patient empowerment and holistic patient care was highlighted during her Oncodermatology Research Fellowship, where she played a pivotal role in establishing annual patient and physician education days. Recognized for her efforts, she was selected for the Leap Leadership program by the NSW Health Education and Training Institute.
In addition to her clinical pursuits, Dr. Liu is actively involved in dermatology education for various healthcare professionals, including nurses, medical students, junior doctors, and general practitioners.
