Consultation Fees
Consultation costs vary by many factors; please ask our friendly receptionists for details.
Treatment performed on the day of consultation typically incurs an additional charge, for example: biopsies; cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen freezing spray); hydrocortisone injections and various other procedures.
Pensioners
Are you the holder of a current Aged Pension card? Please advise our staff as this may attract discounted fees..
Referrals & Medicare Rebates
Please ensure you have a current referral as many services attract a Medicare rebate. For consultations and procedures performed in consultation rooms we are happy to lodge your claim to Medicare electronically on your behalf.
Accounts & Payments
Accounts are payable in full on the day of consultation. Payments can be made by cash, EFTPOS and/or credit card. For eligible services a Medicare claim will be lodged electronically after payment is taken. Medicare shall then deposit the rebate to the bank account you have previously provided to them.
Please let our staff know if you have not yet provided Medicare with your bank account details and we shall provide you with the necessary form to do so.
Same Day Service
Where possible, our dermatologists endeavour to provide treatment during your consultation (biopsies etc.). Please advise your dermatologist if you do not wish to have treatment on the same day.
In some cases it may not be possible to provide treatment on the same day. Many dermatological problems take time to resolve and may require multiple appointments.
Overseas Visitors
We welcome overseas visitors. If you are visiting Australia and do not have an Australian Medicare number please talk to your travel or private health insurer to find out if you are eligible to claim a rebate. On the day of consultation your account will be payable in full.
Appointment Availability & Cancellations
In the event you require an Urgent Appointment, please discuss this with our friendly staff or ask your GP to contact us.
Our dermatologists are frequently fully booked for 1-3 months or more. We encourage you to book your follow up appointment at the end of your consultation to ensure you are reviewed within the time frame prescribed by your provider.
Appointments may be available at short notice due to cancellations. Please let our staff know if you would like to be contacted for a cancellation appointment.

Surgical Procedures & Hospital Fees
Southern Suburbs Day Procedure Centre is a nationally accredited and recognised day surgery located onsite at SouthDerm.
Southern Suburbs Day Procedure Centre is licensed by the NSW Health Department. This enables our insured patients to claim a rebate for eligible surgical procedures with all major health funds.
Our friendly Admissions Department will advise you on financial matters relating to your procedure such as: theatre fees, private health insurance co-payments or excess fees; doctors’ surgical fees; rebates from Medicare and/or private health funds; and insurance waiting periods.
